Our Story

Our History

Greater Destiny International Ministries, Inc. was established on July 16, 2003, under the leadership of Rev. Jimmy McRae, following the impression of the Holy Spirit upon his heart. The ministry began with approximately 20 faithful adult members and their children supporting the effort. At that time, there was no facility to hold worship services, but God's vision prevailed. After beginning in a local daycare center, God opened more doors and services began to be held in a room of an available duplex.

What may seem small to others appeared great in the eyes of a people who were destined to survive. The ministry eventually attained both sides of the duplex, which was quickly outgrown. God had shown Himself to be faithful to His people and He was not finished yet!

Pastor McRae's vision began to turn and the focus was to find a place of worship for the people to call their own. As time passed and the ministry grew, the vision for a worship facility finally came to pass in December 2005. The construction phase one of the present facility was almost complete and we began having services in a building that we could finally call our own.  In April of 2006, Pastor McRae felt the need to transition to Overseer and allow the Assistant Pastor, Rueben Speight, to become the pastor. The Lord continued and still continues to bless the ministry greatly. The church has seen exponential and overwhelming growth. Greater Destiny gives all the glory to God.
Greater Destiny continues to pursue excellence in the body of Christ and strives to convey that excellence in every capacity.  We have been more than fortunate to experience the never-ending favor of our Father.  We look forward to deeper depths in Him.  We do not expect for God's favor to stop now. The history of Greater Destiny has only just begun. We invite you to be a part of that history as we pursue a "greater destiny" in Him.
